A Touch Of Spring Time

  • On 30 Jan | '2015

Greeting Loyal Airmen.  As we’ve said before, one of the major reasons Valerie and the Air Chief moved from New England to Fort Collins, CO, was to get away from the long, brutal winters.  Naturally, while we were kids growing up back in Southern New Hampshire they were fun.  But as age catches up with all of us, five to six months of cold temps are no longer any fun, but something to be dreaded.  So almost five years ago we moved here, to the Rocky Mountain State, living on the eastern side of the majestic Rocky Mountains and loving it.  You see, most of the winter these mountains actually shield us from major snowfalls.

Tuesday, Jan. 26, was Valerie’s birthday.  So right after lunch we jumped in the car and headed out to see a movie.  As we’d already learned during our earlier morning walk, it was a truly gorgeous day. Then when we drove by a local bank, Val spotted the temperature reading – 74 degrees!!  After we came out of the theater, she checked on her smart phone and we had reached 76.  We were warmer here in Colorado than they were in Ft. Myers, FL.  Ha.  And that’s why we love living here, my friends.

In the meantime, Colorado artist Barry McClain continues to pencil the new Simon Pryce private eye mystery, “Man of Ash,” and above he sends along a phone-pix of page number six.  Barry’s work is great on this project and to date he’s finished seven pages and is working on number eight.  Paul Frey is our inker and Rob Davis is doing the lettering.  The Air Chief couldn’t be happier with how this is coming along.

Lastly, we’re going to leave you this week with a peek at one of Rob Davis’ new Sherlock Holmes illustrations.  This will be one of 12 to appear in – SHERLOCK HOLMES – CONSULTING DETECTIVE Vol 7 which will be out in a just a few weeks as our February release from Airship 27 Productions.  This has been our best-selling series since we began it and the previous six volumes still sell well.  We’ve no doubt this volume 7 will do so too.  It sports a gorgeous cover painting by artist Michael Youngblood that we can’t wait to show.  Oh, in two weeks time we will be airing the first episode of the all new Airship 27 Podcast.  Stay tuned Loyal Airmen, lots of great stuff coming your way.
