CHEYENNE WAS A BLAST

TABLE

Greetings Loyal Airmen, here we are with another Flight Log entry and this week we want to share some of the fun we had while up in Wyoming last weekend attending the Cheyenne Comic Con.  Honestly, Valerie and the Air Chief had a blast and met so many wonderful fans, both old and new. Above is a shot of us at our table after setting up Friday night. Once the doors were opened, place filled up really fast.

GROOTLOU&CAL

Of course what would a comic con be without cos-players and celebrities and C3 had its share.  Above left, Valerie got this great shot of the Guardians of the Galaxy crew, from Rocket Racoon to Star Lord and the most amazing of all, Groot.  Person in that massive costume was simply amazing.  And speaking of both massive and amazing, our friend Calvin Hyland was thrilled to meet his own hero, the Incredible Hulk himself, actor Lou Ferrigno.  Our table was near the celebrity tables and we’re happy to tell you, Mr. Ferrigno was a gracious gentlemen who truly enjoyed meeting and chatting with all his fans.

KINGPIN

Off course the Air Chief wasn’t about having some fun as well as we hooked up with the insidious Marvel villain from Daredevil, the conniving Kingpin in his prison orange suit. This fellow was hoot and pretty much dared us to come out from behind the table to pose with him. Challenge accepted and met.

PANEL

Or course another staple of cons are the panels and even though we were not scheduled to do any at this particular show, we ended up filling in when the con promoters learned their guest for an hour panel had failed to arrive. So the Air Chief, along with pals Todd Jones (at middle) and Chad Blakely, volunteered to jump in and fill the hour with some informal banter about our careers etc. And we have to admit, it with those plush sofas and easy chairs on the stage, it was by far the most comfortable panel we’ve ever participated in.  Ha.

SNOW

Finally, as we write this log entry, Colorado has been hit with a snowstorm. The latest Spring storm on record.  Started out as rain early this morning (see pix above) and then turned completely to the white stuff. Suppose to go all night into tomorrow (Friday).  Tell me Mother Nature doesn’t have a sense of humor.

And that’s it for this week Loyal Airmen, as ever, thanks for dropping by.
