                             THE AIR CHIEF'S FAVORITE READING
Greetings Loyal Airmen.  As you can see from the photo above, issues of MR.JIGSAW  #9 have finally arrived and the book came out great.  Ka-Blam did a super job, as usual, and we hope all you Jiggy fans our there will head on over to our links page and click on the Redbud Studio link to go and pick up a copy.  This one features three all new Jiggy stories, all written by the Air Chief and illustrated by Gary Kato, with editing and design work by our amigo, Rob Davis.  There's even two pages of fan letters for you to enjoy as well.  Gary and the Air Chief are having a blast doing this series and we truly hope you enjoy it as well.

Reading and writing comics has been such a huge part of the Air Chief's life, it would have been a much sadder and duller life without comic books.  Since moving to Fort Collins, we have the good pleasure of hooking up with several other professional comic creators.  So the Air Chief thought it might be a good idea if all us were to get together informally say once a month at a local breakfast/coffee shot. And so we put our plan in action by inviting writers Mike Baron and Todd Jones, along with artists Felipe Echevarria, Lee Oaks and Jeff Herndon to join us this coming Saturday morning and every first Sat. of the month from now on for what will become the Fort Collins Comics Creators Coffee Clutch.  And no, we will not divulge the secret location of this meeting happening for the first time this Sat, 2nd July.  But believe me, we are truly looking forward to spending some fun time with these talented folks and its cool that there will be three writers and three artists.  Now that's comic karma.  Ha.

Finally, a while back we mentioned having been asked to write a mystery story for a new Moonstone books anthology starring a 1950s radio insurance investigator, Johnny Dollar.  The show was called SINCERELY YOURS, JOHNNY DOLLAR and broadcast out of Los Angeles for many years.  Now Radio Archives has put several episodes on CD discs in a nice package for sale and hired our good pal, Doug Klauba, to paint the cover.

JOHNNY DOLLAR BY ARTIST DOUG KLAUBA
Doug turned in such a beautiful painting of the radio hero “with the action expense account” that Moonstone opted to use the same painting as the cover for their anthology which will hopefully be out this Fall.  We will keep you posted.  We had a blast writing for this project, he's such a cool character and Doug captured him perfectly in this beautiful painting.

Finally, our Mom was sick with pneumonia and hospitalized for a few days last weekend.  Thank you to all you Loyal Airmen who wrote in saying you were keeping her in your prayers.  She's back at her living quarters at the Wentworth Home and improving slowly.  Keep those prayers coming.

July 4th weekend in is here and we wish a rousing Happy Birthday to the greatest country in the world, the United States of America.  Still, when going out to celebrate our great home, do be careful out there on the roads.  We want you all back here safely next week.  And that's it for this week, Loyal Airmen.  In less than a month Rob and the Air Chief will be on their way to Pulp Fest in Columbus, Ohio.  Hope to see many of you Loyal Airmen there.  It's a great show and always much fun.
