Greetings Loyal Airmen, hope you are all enjoying nice warm Spring days.  Valerie sat down with own denim jacket the other day and sowed on the new Airship 27Crew Patch that we've been so thrilled about and gave away tons of them at the Windy City Pulp & Paper Con.  Doesn't it look grand on the Air Chief's arm?  We will have these available at Pulp Fest in Columbus as well at the end of July and you can order one by mail if you can't make these shows.  The Air Chief will be wearing this jacket on his trip to Oklahoma City next week for the Oklahoma Fiction Writers' Conference where he and Art Director, Rob Davis, will be presenting workshops on how to create Graphic Novels.  And although both of us are thrilled to be there as guests of the Conference, it does mean for the first time in several years neither of us will be participating in any Free Comic Book Day activities.  Still, we will be promoting comics in our own special way.  Chuckle.  And we do hope that all you Loyal Airmen have made plans to visit your local comic shops on FCBD and join in on this annual, fun celebration.

And look what came in the mail yesterday?  Our copies of Airship 27 Productions first ever childrens' book, “Barry Baskerville Solves a Case,” by Richard Kellogg and artist Gary Kato.  Valerie scooped one up immediately and after reading it through gave her seal approval, adding its a marvelous treat for a child, boy or girl.  Happily her endorsement echoes those of our friends who have already gone to Amazon and purchased their copies.  And never fear, Loyal Airmen, we will have copies at Oklahoma, Pulp Fest and the Air Chief is bringing this stash to the big Denver Comic Con.

And now for a few sneak-peeks at what's been keeping the Air Chief creatively busy.  Months ago, on our favorite website, Comic Related, we discovered the art postings of a truly unique comic stylist named J.D. William.  The more of his work he posted, the more we became huge fans.  It isn't that often that you find artist willing to take a risk with their art push the envelope, J.D. is one of those and each of his pieces conveyed an energy and originality unlike anything the Air Chief had ever seen before.  Ultimately we contacted J.D. and began discussing the possibility of doing something together.  The end result is going to be a sci-fi crime thriller to be called “Paradise Falls,” and above is J.D.'s first drawing featuring the protagonist of the sage.  We're not going to say too much more as at present letterer Warren Montgomery is designing the logo for this piece.  As soon as he's finished with it, we'll post it here in a future Flight Log and tell you lots more of what we've planned for this comic series.  Stay tuned.

And lastly the above illustration depicts two of the Air Chief's favorite fiction characters.  Can you guess who they are?  We post it here because at the moment we are writing a brand new pulp adventure featuring them which will be published later this year by White Rocket Books and we thought we'd tease you a little with a picture showcasing.  Here's a clue for you all; there should be a third figure added to these two.

And that wraps another Flight Log, Loyal Airmen, as ever thanks so much for stopping by.  Take care and we'll see you next week.
