Greeting Loyal Airmen.  Been another long week of packing up the house for the big move.  One week from today Valerie and the Air Chief will be leaving here forever.  Been a great 27 years.  Seems like that number has always been lucky for the Air Chief.  Last week we posted some pictures of the fun we had at Champion City Con two weeks ago.  While there we hooked up with several comic book creators we wanted to direct your attention to and tell you about their latest projects.

         
                                        CARY KELLEY   AND  BRANT FOWLER
As you'll recall the convention was held at the Wittenburg University campus and my con neighbors were writers Cary Kelley and Brant Fowler.  Both these talented gentlemen have recently self-published their own unique comics and we picked up copies while there.  Upon taking them home and reading them, we were impressed by the quality of these titles and wanted to share them with our Loyal Airmen.

      
FALLEY JUSTICE is a powerful graphic novel written Cary and Steven Forbes and illustrated by Harold Edge.  It asks the question, what would happen if the world's mightiest hero were dying?  How would he act in his final days? It's a brilliant piece of writing and the art is up to the drama.  This is one of the best graphic novels the Air Chief has ever red.  Published through Cary's own Red Hand Studio, you can buy a copy at his website – (http://redhandstudio.com/store/) – Do yourselves a favor and pick up a copy.  And added note to this particular book, one of the supporting character is a super-powered young lady named Dynagirl.  Cary has since begun a brand new series starring her and we are in talks about doing a Dynagirl – Mr.Jigsaw team up.  Stay tuned.  We'll post more as this fun concept develops.

    
WANNABEZ is Brant Fowler's creation about a group of nice, normal people, who are convinced they have super powers, but they really do not.  It's done for laughs and is a whole lot of fun.  The book is illustrated by the talented Scott Simmons and colored by Lisa Moore.  We can't praise this book enough.  When people say there are no fun comics anymore, we point them to WANNABEZ.  Again self-published, you can grab a copy by going to (http://wannabez.com) where you'll find the first issue as pictured above.

Both these comics are truly worth your attention and pennies.  Help support some truly fresh voices in the comic game. For that we thank you. Finally the new TV season is back and with it some of our returning favorites such as The Big Bang Theory, Fringe and Castle.  Glad to see them back.  Also enjoyed the premier of the new Hawaii 5-0.  Looks to be some decent entertainment as Fall bids us ado and those long nights of winter roll in.
