CON SEASON UPON US

  • On 20 Mar | '2015

Greetings Loyal Airmen, well what with the recent Fort Collins FoCo Comics and Gaming Festival behind us by several weeks now, we are truly getting into the full Convention Season.  And last weekend, one of the finest such, Planet ComiCon in Kansas City was held to record crowds.

Here’s a great shot of our pal, Todd Jones, who traveled to Kansas City to attend this show with several other Colorado creators. There he hooked up with our own Rob Davis to get this pix snapped. Photo-Bombing our two amigos is Rob’s son, Ryan, a real jokester.  We’ve wanted to attend this show for several years now and considering how much Todd and other local friends had there, we are now going to start planning for next year.  In fact Rob has suggested that if the Air Chief does make an appearance, he will line up a Pulp Panel for us to present.  Now that’s an offer we really can’t pass up. Stay tuned.

Over 100 combined listeners per show is really great and the Air Chief and Rob and truly grateful.  But we do not plan to just leave them at that.  Your support has truly been overwhelming and we continue to get in letters of comments and questions for future shows every day.  So we are going to set a goal here and with the support of you Loyal Airmen, we know we can achieve it. We’d like, by the end of the year, to have 100 downloads and 100 You Tube subscribers, thus bringing out total audience to 200.  Can we do it? Stay tuned, and please, word-of-mouth is the best promotion ever so tell your friends about us…and thanks.

On Friday the 20th, I will be at the Children’s Museum of Discovery here in Fort Collins for their special Creating Comic Book Day. It is something they’ve done for the past two years during Spring Break and they invite the Air Chief and several of his comic book pals to come and show kids how to make a comic book.  Believe me, we have as much fun as the kids.

And finally we end this week’s Flight Log with loud cheers for the second season of BBC America’s THE MUSKETEERS, which is almost done.  Based on the Alexander Dumas adventure classic, we fell in love with this show during season one.  The characters are authentic to Dumas’ fiction and the stories was acted with plenty of action and suspense throughout.  Obviously we were curious if the second sophomore season would be as good.  We needn’t have worried, as both Valerie and the Air Chief think this second season was even better than the first.  With only a few more episodes before it wraps, here’s hoping the numbers are good and that there will be a season three come our way.
Thanks for stopping by as ever and we’ll see you back here in the Spring, which happens officially in one day.
