LIVING IN THE MIDDLE

  • On 22 Oct | '2010

Welcome Loyal Airmen, to our second Flight Log entry from our new Colorado Hangar homebase.  Living within sight of the majestic Rocky Mountains has been a real inspiration for the Air Chief. Every day Val and the Air Chief go out and walk, we see them rising in the background, their tips now clearly snow covered as Fall quickly rushes into Winter. Of course moving half-way across the country has created some issues that will take some getting use to, this living in the middle of things.  When the Air Chief use to wake up on the East Coast, he would start posting on various websites several hours before his mid-west colleagues and even longer for those folks living on the west coast.  Now, when we walk into our office, usually at 8 A.M. and log on, it is usually to a dozen e-mails send from folks back East.  And then we remember they are actually up two hours ahead us now.  So its us having to play catch and get cracking daily.  Same applies to catching our favorite TV shows, the few we watch. What we would usually catch at 10 PM back in New England now airs between 8 and 9 PM.  We missed quite a few episodes because we simply can't seem to find the right time slots out here.  Back home Jay Leno would come on at 11:35 PM.  Here he's signing off at 11 PM.  Believe me, it is weird.  Just some of the little quirks and as stated, we will eventually adjust to as time goes by. We are truly loving it here and happily, living in the age of the internet, we haven't missed one deadline in regards to our current writing and editing gigs.

An example of this is today's release of our latest title from Airship 27 Productions, just in time for the Halloween season, WEIRD HORROR TALES – The Feasting.  The second collection of macabre tales by award winning writer Michael Vance, with illustrations by Earl Geier and a stunning cover by Christophe Dessaigne.  If you enjoy really creepy stories, do not miss this great book.  As always you can order it at our on-line store (just click on the dirigible logo to the left of this column) or order it from Barnes & Noble on-line, Amazon and other major book distributors.

And above is one of the covers to the just released  GREEN HORNET CHRONICLES from Moonstone Books.  We told you about this anthology of new GH stories several months ago when we were asked to contribute a tale.  Ours is called The Eyes of the Madonna and it is our first new GH adventure since we worked on the old Now Comic series. This book has some great stories and we hope you'll pick up a copy and let us know what you think.  The Air Chief has also done an Avenger pulp story for Moonstone which will appear in their second anthology of that series.  We'll give you a heads up when it comes out, hopefully before year's end.

And there you have this week's Flight Log, Loyal Airmen.  As always, thanks for stopping by and your support of our humble efforts.  Next week is Halloween, one of our favorite times of the year.  See you back here then.
