NEW AUTHOR SIGNING
- On 1 Mar | '2013
Greetings Loyal Airmen, here we are finishing up another week. In fact, as you read this, we'll have put February to sleep and be getting into March. If the weather across the land these past few weeks is indication, March will indeed come in like a lion and hopefully go out like a lamb. And within two weeks will once again be resetting our clocks as the days continue to lengthen, a sure sign of Spring on the way.
One of the most enjoyable aspects of Spring for Airship 27 Productions is our annual trip to the Windy City Pulp & Paper Convention. See the cool poster above. This will be our seventh year in attendance and there is SO MUCH going on this year, it is incredible. What with having two tables to showcase all our new pulp titles, a secret premium “free” to any one who picks up two of our books, the Pulp Factory Awards on Friday night and the inauguration of New Pulp Sunday with panels and author readings. Trust me pulp fans, this is one show you need to start planning on attending right now. We so hope to see many of our Loyal Airmen there.
Speaking of Author signings and readings, Airship 27 Productions' own Terrence McCauley realized a truly wonderful week this past week when he was the guest author at the Mysterious Book Shop in New York City. Terrence was there to talk about and sign copies of his very first novel, a fantastic crime thriller called PROHIBITION that we released last December to rousing, critical applause. A native New Yorker, Terrence's tale details the Irish Mob in Hell's Kitchen back in the 1930s. Also note, Terrence will be attending Windy City in April and be our guest at the Airship 27 tables. On Saturday he'll be with us for one hour in the afternoon selling and signing copies of PROHIBITION, then on Sunday he'll be a major part of the fun that is New Pulp Sunday, joining in on both the panels and readings. Terrence is a super great guy and just another reason you should come to the con.
And finally, on the comic front, you may recall the Air Chief mentioned having just finished writing the script to what will eventually become issue # 11 of MR. JIGSAW – Man of a Thousand Parts. We sent off the script to artist co-creator Gary Kato and hopefully he'll be starting on the artwork in another few weeks. With fingers crossed we'll have this new issue by summer.
In the meanwhile, after posting this news on our Mr. Jigsaw Facebook page, we put out a plea for any artist on the site to do up a pin-up of our loveable break-apart-hero and within a day, Geoff Isalengend turned the above piece which we love. We are hoping others will follow suit and once we've gotten a half dozen or so, we'll publish them as an extra bonus section in a future issue of the comic. You know, you just can't get enough Jiggy.
Been watching the Red Sox on MLB cable station in a few of their exhibition and although much to early to get a real feel for this new team make-up, we've enjoyed these little exhibition outings and as ever have high hopes our beloved Sox can get back to their winning ways this seasons. As we said, hope does spring eternal. Thanks ever for stopping by and we'll see you back here in seven.
