ON VACATION
- On 1 Jun | '2011
Greetings Loyal Airmen, as we write this short entry, it is Tuesday night, 31st May. Tomorrow, Valerie and the Air Chief are flying back to New Hampshire for a two week vacation. It is our first trip back East since we moved here to Fort Collins, Co. and we are naturally anxious to see family and friends again. Mark your calendars Loyal Airmen, as the Air Chief will be off-line until we return to Hangar 27 on June 13th.
But before heading out, we wanted to leave you with two items. One a bit of pride for our pulp outfit, Airship 27 Productions and a book we put out last year. GREEN LAMA UNBOUND.
This fantastic book earlier this year won the Pulp Factor Award for best novel going to Adam Lance Garcia and for Best Interior Art going to the amazing Mike Fyles. Then in May it also captured the Pulp Ark Award for Best Pulp Revival. We at Airship 27 thought it was only fitting to applaud these victories and have redesigned the cover to show them off for this talented duo. Congratulations Adam and Mike, truly well deserved. Oh, and if you'll sneak a peek at the back cover, Art Director Rob Davis took this opportunity to add the spiffy New Pulp logo to the book. This movement is gaining steam big time.
Finally, we are going to leave you with something truly important. Yesterday we all celebrated Memorial Day and many of us took the time to remember and thank all those brave men and women who gave their all for our country, to include those severely wounded. Well earlier this evening our oldest son, Scott, made us aware of a young G.I. who was recently wounded in Afghanistan, and may lose both his legs. He has been shipped back to the states and is in an Army Hospital in Texas, where his long, hard road to recovery is about to begin.
Below in his mailing address and I would ask all Loyal Airmen reading these words to take a few minutes and send him a get well card…and add your thanks as fellow Americans. If you have small children, get them to draw and color a picture, anything to help bring a smile to this brave young soldier.
