OUR AD IN DYNAMITE COMIC
- On 11 Oct | '2013
Greetings Loyal Airmen. It looks like the month of October had started off on some really good notes for us here at Airship 27 Productions. As you may recall, last year we debut our first Captain Action novel, “Riddle of the Glowing Men” by Jim Beard. Well a few weeks ago Dynamite Comics, one of the fastest, most popular comic companies out there rolled out the first issue of their new Captain Action comic series titled – CODENAME – ACTION. And thanks to our good friends at Captain Action Enterprises, the comic featured a full page ad in the back for our pulp book.

Considering the thousands of comic fans who picked up this premier issue, we are thrilled that this may be introducing Airship 27 Productions to whole new audiences of possible readers. All fingers crossed. Oh, and for the record, we thought the first issue of the comic was terrific. Great story and art both. You really should pick up a copy. Tell them the Air Chief sent you.

Another of well received titles of the past few years was the first Challenger Storm novel, “Isle of Blood,” by Don Gates with art by the legendary Michael Kaluta. For his efforts, Kaluta picked up both the Best Pulp Cover and Best Interior Illustration wins from the Pulp Factory Awards; the first artist to ever do so. Well, both he and Gates have been very busy working on the sequel, “Curse of Poseidon,” and above is one of the nine new spot illustrations Kaluta is doing for this second Challenger Storm. Stay tuned for more news as it moves up the production line.

What with the Fall here, so arrives the new season of TV shows, both old and new. We've already ranted about how much we are enjoying Marvel's AGENTS OF SHIELD. Well this past week a returning favorite, ARROW, launched its second season and it was fantastic. Appearing for an all too brief cameo in episode one was one of DC's most popular female heroes, Black Canary. We only got a glimpse of her kicking bad-guy butt, yet it was still enough to have us applauding and cheering. Looking like ARROW is truly off to a grand start this year.

And so that you don't think October only means comics and TV to us here, at Hangar 27, don't forget we are baseball fans rooting for our beloved Red Sox…..who this week, after winning the Division title, went on to beat the tenacious Tampa Rays (3 games to 1) for the right to battle this coming week-end for the American League Championship Pennant against the Detroit Tigers. The winner of course going on to face the National League Champs in the World Series. After last years abysmal failure, the miraculous rebound of the Red Sox has electrified the sports world and we couldn't be happier. This is a tough, gritty team that never quits and we've come to admire them greatly. GO SOX!!
And there you have it for another week, Loyal Airmen, as ever thanks for stopping by.
Ron – Over & Out!
