ROCKY MOUNTAIN HIGH

  • On 3 Sep | '2010

Greetings Loyal Airmen. Here we go barreling in the Labor Day weekend and the end of another summer.  Been a truly busy, busy, busy week here at Hanger 27, so let's get right into this week's Flight Log with the most important news of all.  The Hanger is moving west.  Yup, we've sold our house.  After only a few months on sale, we landed a buyer and thank God for answering our prayers.  Our last day here will be the 30th of the month.  We've already leased a home in Ft.Collins, Colorado where we are moving to.  Our son Alan and his family live there and they have been of tremendous help in make this happen so quickly and smoothly for us.  Now comes the fun part, packing up 27 years of DVDs, comics, books and toys.  So much stuff. But you know what?  Life should never be static, it should be about change and moving forward. Both Val and the Air Chief are wicked excited about starting this new chapter of our lives and hope you share our enthusiasm.

Of course nothing is going to change Airship 27 Productions.  The second cool thing this week saw was the release our thirtieth pulp title.

TALES OF THE BAGMAN was written by Airship 27 veteran, B.C.Bell and sports a fantastic cover by Laura Givens, with nine interior illos by Kelly Everaert, all in a super packaged designed by Rob Davis.  This one stars a brand new pulp hero battling the gangland mobs in Old Chicago.  Believe me, if you like fast paced action with great characters and a sly touch of humor, TALES OF THE BAGMAN is your cup of pulp tea.  As ever, just click on the dirigible logo to the left of the column to go to our on-line shop. Or if you prefer, wait and she'll be on sale in about another week at Amazon.com and other major book dealers.  As ever, thanks for your support Loyal Airmen.

The third fun even of the past week was the release of Mr.Jigsaw Man of a Thousand Parts # 7. This one has a nifty guest cover by Scott Simmons and features a full length story called The Secret Life of Charlie Grant by yours truly and artist Gary Kato.  It's family friendly fun in the Jiggy manner you've all come to love and enjoy.  You can pick up a copy from (www.IndyPlanet.com) where all Mr.Jigsaw titles are still on sale.  We hope you'll check it out.

Well, the Air Chief has to get back to packing.  Especially since next week we'll be flying off to Springfield Ohio for the second annual Champion City Comic Con.  Considering all the hard work ahead of us this coming week, that is going to be a really nice R & R weekend for the Air Chief.  Really looking forward to it.  Okay, that's a wrap. Hope all you Loyal Airmen have a terrific holiday weekend, and those of you residing on the Eastern seaboard (like us) keep a eye on Hurricane Earl, due up the channel late tomorrow night.  Looks to be a windy and wet wild one.
