Greetings Loyal Airmen, looks like this week’s theme is going to be second issues. Of our almost dozen comic book series, several are about finished with the second issue. Let’s take a look at them.
In the first issue of Antarctic Press’ THE CRIMSON NUN, we introduced the world to a brand new heroine and how she arrived on the scene to save the life of the first Crimson Nun. Now as the story continues, we’ll take a look back on young girl, Gabrielle Joan Cauxvette and how her dreams of her hero, Saint Joan of Arc. will ultimately lead her to become the modern day Warrior Maid. As ever Jesse Thomas does an amazing job with the artwork and Mike Belcher delivers the beautiful lettering. The Kickstarter Campaign began this past Tuesday and reached its $500 goal in a matter of hours. Whereas the campaign still has a few weeks to run, any additional funds pledged will only help us print lots more issues and get them out to readers. Below is the link to it. Loyal Airmen, we sure could use your help in spreading the word. (https://www.kickstarter.com/…/the-crimson-nun-part-2)
JIN & TONIK # 2
The second series pushing a new segment is our spy thriller with artist Cesar Feliciano, JIN & TONIK. As of this week, Cesar has penciled and inked 45 pages of this 50 page chapter. Yup, he’s only got five pages left to go. Meanwhile super colorist Matt Webb delivered pg # 28 (above) and his colors continue to blow us all away. When all art and colors are complete, Mike Belcher will once again do his magnificent lettering. Are we excited about getting this second book out. Oh yeah!
THE FUTURE OF THE CRIMSON NUN
So here’s what’s what regarding the future of the Crimson Nun. The current mini-series the Air Chief is now doing with artist Jesse Thomas & letterer Mike Belcher will be four issues long. Having finished the second, we’re half way home and Jesse is hard at work on issue # 3. We hope to script # 4 after the holidays. Okay, so earlier this week, publisher Ben Dunn tossed out the idea that we do a follow up story-line mini having CN team-up with a classic pulp hero. Ergo his rough sketch of her with the Shadow. There are several pulp domain pulp heroes out there we would love to have her cross paths with. Stay tuned. We will keep you posted.
And there you have it for this week, Loyal Airmen. As ever thanks for stopping by and we’ll see you back here next Friday. Till then, be well. Ron – Over & Out!
