Greetings Loyal Airmen, as we mentioned in last week’s Flight Log, artist pal Zane DeGaine and the Air Chief were guests this past week at the Fort Collins Compass School, a private charter school in the city, as they held their third annual Comic Con. Needless to say we had a blast. Above, teacher and con organizer, Dawn DuPriest snapped a selfie of the three of us.
THE HOW TO MAKE A COMIC WORKSHOP
Aside from the usual activity of having tables with our comics on them to sell, Zane and I joined forces to put on an informal hour long workshop on How to Make a Comic Book. Dawn snapped this pix just as we got started. The Air Chief offered up a brief history of American Comics, then the two of us, with Zane handling art chores, proceeded to have our audience attempt to draw their own comic page based on a page script the Air Chief had written for the event. Both of us were really impressed with the talent of these students.
FIXING R2-D2 & A LOVELY ELF
The show really was a lot of fun and the Air Chief managed to snap a couple of pictures. One of the lovely young lady decked out as elf with elegantly sculpted ears. There was so much cosplay at this show. Then right across from us were a few techy gentlemen who had built their own working remote-control R2-D2 robot. At one point, they took off his head piece and did a little repair work, which the Air Chief snapped. All in all it was a fun day and hopefully let’s invite us back next year.
A NEW JUNGLE ADVENTURE FROM AIRSHIP 27
The Air Chief is excited to announce the release of our newest pulp title from Airship 27 Production. Writers Michael Panush and Charles Santino offer up fresh, exciting jungle adventure set against the mysterious backdrop of the Amazon Jungle. Here are strange characters, exotic animals and danger everywhere. It’s a pulse-pounding tale illustrated by artist Ron Hill with a dynamic cover by Ted Hammond. Now available from Amazon in paperback and soon on Kindle. As every Loyal Airmen, thanks for your support.
CHIVALRY INC. Book One pg 12
And here’s colorist Mickey Clausen latest completed page from Chivalry Inc. book one. We are blown away. He’s now past the half-way mark, as the issue is 22 pages. We’ll keep you posted. Wahoo!
So there you have it for this week, Loyal Airmen. Lots of projects moving forward smoothly. As of this weekend, the Air Chief has written nearly 25 pages of issue # 4 of our Crimson Nun series for Antarctic Press. This most likely be the biggest issue by the time we’ve wrapped it up. Then again, it is the finale of this opening sage of our new Crimson Nun. What happens next will be up to Ben Dunn. He’s got some big plans and the Air Chief has a few of his own stay tuned. Till next week, be well, be kind to one another and God bless. Ron – Over & Out!
