Greetings Loyal Airmen, the other day the Air Chief got to thinking about all the comics projects we’ve been working on this year. To highlight those, we put together the collage of covers below.

These are six of the twelve comic book projects we are currently actively engaged with. Not in this collage are Mr. Jigsaw, Chivalry Inc., The Black Bat, Genies, The Wooden Blade, Hamlet’s End and Captain Jain Marlee. Not bad for a 77 yr old comic geek.

FINN THE FORMIDABLE

And because all our own comic projects are what we call “Independent,” it is easy to see that the Air Chief also is a fan and supports other such Independent projects. One we discovered recently is “Finn – The Formidable” by our Fort Collins pal, writer/artist Brian Loner. Above is the cover to the first issue and the book is really well done. Though appearing on the “cartoony” side ala old classics like Groo etc. Brian uses the style to tell a straight up, dramatic story about a former knight who’s wife and son have been kidnapped by evil forces from another dimension. Brian’s art is terrific and his keeps his readers turning those pages. We really liked this opening chapter and can’t wait to see what happens next.

THE CRIMSON NUN

Our pal, artist Dave Mowry turned in another great sketch of the Crimson Nun in action. Dave recently signed on with Airship 27 to be one of our many talented book illustrators. Really thrilled to have him on board.
